Every year, as my brother plays baseball I observe different players. Some are just there simply because mom and dad signed them up. Some have the ability but no fire to push them. There's some that keep the mood light and have a sense of humor. There's some of them with that quiet strength even though they aren't as vocal. And then there's the ones with passion.
A lot of times, the passion is exhibited through the greater majority of players in some form, whether it's through their quiet strength and example but in some players, the passion is so easily seen burning through. You just know they want it so bad and that pushes them to play harder and step up to lead and give direction.
I noticed all of these characteristics in the player's on my brother's team last night. Also during the game, it also became very evident that nothing worth doing is easy. Sometimes, it's just out of your grasp. As disappointing as that is, they still had the best record. And that's more to be proud of than just the outcome of just one game.
(Btw, did you know how hard it is to shoot through a fence? Very.)
