Everyday | Pineapples & Psych

Confession time: I'm not a huge fruit fan. (I'm working on that, by the way.) I do love pineapple, though. And other tropical fruits. And tropical drinks. (I should live in Hawaii. Only problem is they don't have any professional sports teams, but let's stick to the topic at hand.)

Pineapples have always been some of my seasonal fruits. And lately they've taken on more of a double meaning.

Last year, one of my friends showed the show Psych (USA Network) to me. Psych, which about a fake psychic detective and his sidekick solving crimes in Santa Barbara. (He's not really a psychic, he's just incredibly observant and is able to pick up on traits and small details others miss.)

I've seen the pilot episode and episodes from this season (season 6) sporadically when I can manage some down time. Before I let this become a tv show critique, I'll just say that the show is well-written with a dry sense of humor and for a show with crime/drama themes, there's little violence and blood.

Here's where pineapples come in: they're a recurring theme of the show.

I don't know why pineapples specifically, but it's a clever inside joke and marketing strategy. So now when I see pineapples I think of sweet summer goodness. And Psych.
